Excellent for the two weeks I spent there. Two minutes from I-10 to your site. Some shade. Large pull-throughs. Highly recommend. Not a destination resort, but first class place to stay to visit the area.

Dirt and loose rock roads that become mud/muck when it rained a little. Not allowed to rinse the mud off with campground water. The mowing pelted the truck and trailer with rocks. Good concrete pad for the trailer to sit on. Truck parked in the mud. The wonderful sound of large industrial diesels all day and night. Very easy to find. Tight roads for getting into/ out of site. Good space between sites. Overall experience undesirable but safe.

On 181 just north of town. Luella runs a very comfortable RV park. Nice walking trail in the city park.

Saying the host is disinterested is a major improvement from the reality. His dog was one of the problems. A camper in a ragged trailer, and ragged vehicles kept two dogs tethered out near the street. They barked at every little thing that happened. The ranger was not interested in quieting the dog problem either. The park is well kept physically and in the middle of a huge amount of things to keep you busy. Carlsbad is in the middle of a major construction boom so traffic is tough in town

5 for the cmpground/ 1 for the area. Very clean campground. Rates advertised are lower than are charged. That doesn't seem right. Campground is quiet, but the area is far from quiet. Every night either the fragrant cattle pens two blocks away are loudly doing something "cattle" or the VFW next door is broadcasting loud music until after midnight. The main street is close and has lots of loud vehicles. Owners are nice. Prefer to stay somewhere else next time.

Old park in a perfect location. Water at one end of site and electric/sewer are at the other end. I had no problem with hooking to all the services. No blocks needed for leveling. My site had a beautiful view into the canyon. $4 cheaper than the state park but also has sewer and very fast internet wifi. A much better deal. It is not fancy at all so all you foo-foo folks keep on rolling. Extremely quiet. Not a bunch of noisy folks running around. I will stay here when I return in a month.

I did not camp here. When checking for a longer term stay today, I had trouble getting straight information. The brochure stated a starting monthly rate of $220. Then below that was W/electricity $365, the below that she added summer $390. Then under her breath mumbled about having to sign up with the electricity company for something. As I listened to her take a call, I found out that they expect you to maintain the grass and or shrubs at your sit. She was thinking they were doing me a favor to furnish the mower and gasoline. I use Roundup to control grass. She also made it known that children are not really welcome beyond a day visit. This situation made me wonder what other things she was not being upfront about. I will not stay here with that sucker me attitude.

Utilities worked just fine. Nan in the store is fantastic. Needs tv and internet to be more than a stopover place. Location is right at the entrance to Black Gap and 8 miles from Big Bend. Beats staying in the Bend campgrounds of RGV or Cottonwood with no utilities for $14. It is a very adequate stopover place with very friendly folks.

Very clean. Very friendly. Very easy in and out. Very over priced since it is so far away from major attractions. All gravel or grass. In the rest of Texas a park with this remote a location would charge 20-22 a night at most.

New managers are working had to bring this place up to minimum standards. WiFi worked fine. Cable television was "snowy". Site was reasonably level, but just grass and gravel. Facilities were very clean. When these managers get some time put in, this will be a great place. Right now it leaves some to be desired, but is better than most in the area.

Extremely nice owner/operators. Roads packed gravel. Sites grass or sand/grass mix. Clubhouse, pool table house and boat parking while here. Sites are just wide enough and long enough. Really big rigs will have to have certain spots to fit well. Brian, Rhonda, and Mary are the most helpful owners I have ever met. Usual potlucks etc. The Rockport area is very nice and a fisherman or beach persons dream. Monthly rate $185 plus elec. Definitely would come here when in Rockport area.

Old ,worn ,out of date with terrible layout of campsites. Adequate but definitely not for longer stays. Seems good for weekender family camping if you like to have folks very close by. Staff was very nice.

My Sprint Aircard had excellent reception here. The park was well maintained and very clean of litter. The rail yard does have some low volume noise during the day but none during the night when I was here. The grassy areas were huge and the water access was excellent. A wonderful set up for kids outdoors. I am a single man who really appreciates a campground that provides room for kids to have loud fun without being right next to your unit. This is my first time here and will be the location I will stay on future visits to my sister's family in Garland.

Acceptable if you are running late. Not an attractive area, but worked out just fine when I was running late getting to a spot for the night. The place is very clean contrary to the local town.

Very adequate campground. Odd that they charge $5 extra if you use their restrooms or bath facilities. Laundry was excellent. Owners were really pleasant and helpful in things to see in the area. WiFi was silly slow. Over all very clean and tidy.

Manager feels like RVers should not be allowed to boon dock and should be required to stay in private camp grounds since the owner makes money on the campground. HUH????

A really nice primitive park with excellent parking pads and nice surroundings. The creek at the back of the park was a great stress reliever.
